| dc.description.abstract | 충남도청 소재지인 홍성은 고려시대부터 서해안권의 행정·교통의 중심지로서 번성했으며, 1895년에는 현재의 평택부터 서천에 이르는 22개 군현을 관할하기도 했다. 『신증동국여지 승람』(1530년)에서는 “홍주는 호서의 거읍이고 그 땅이 넓고 기름지며, 그 백성이 번성하여 난치의 고을로 불려 왔다”고 적고 있다. 그 가운데 거친 풍파의 세월을 견딘 역사의 현장이 있으니 바로 홍주성이다. 홍주는 홍성의 옛 지명이다. -이후 생략 | - |
